Most men who come in for a vasectomy consultation have never looked up what the procedure actually involves.

They've thought about getting one. Maybe for years. But when it comes to the specifics -- what happens in that room, what they'll feel, how long it takes -- they've kept it vague on purpose.
I get it. Some things feel easier not to look up.

But here's what I've found after doing this for over 30 years: the men who know what to expect going in are the ones who feel the most comfortable walking out. So let me just tell you exactly what happens.

Before You Come In

A vasectomy starts with a consultation. We talk through your situation, your health history, and whether this is the right decision for you. You ask your questions. I answer them.

Once you're scheduled, the prep is straightforward. You'll want to shower the morning of, wear snug, supportive underwear, and arrange for someone to drive you home. That's about it.
