There's a version of a vasectomy that lives in most men's heads.
It involves significant pain. Maybe a week or two off work. A recovery that sounds manageable on paper but secretly isn't. Something you'll get through, but won't enjoy.
I know this version well because I hear about it in nearly every consultation I do. Men come in having psyched themselves up for something difficult. they may have had a friend who had a difficult time or saw some exaggerated post on social media about how horrible it was.
They've prepared themselves mentally. They've cleared their schedule. They've told themselves it'll be worth it.
And then it's over in 20 minutes and they go home and watch football.
